Amy's speech
Hello, my name is Amy Flores an I will be sharing the soulution portion of our presentation with you all. Obesity, over the past three decades, has already led to an increased rate of obesity-related health issues. our goal is for you, our audience, to become more educated on obesity and participate in our solutions. Some of our solutions that we came up with were to promote a healthy lifestyle, encourage others to drink at least one cup of water everyday in place of a sugar-sweetened beverage, motivate students to participate in physical education, an to encourage others to eat fruit in place of junk food. One of our most persuasive solutions is to promote a healthy lifestyle. We challenge you to live to and promote a better lifestyle. This could be as simple as changing your eating habits, exercising more, or becoming more educated about obesity.
Instead of going for that Pepsi, why not drink water? Instead of eating fast food, why not have a home cooked meal? Portion out your meals better. Half-pound muffins and two-pound pasta bowls are only two out of hundreds maybe even thousands, examples of big, blown out of proportion meals. These are easy, These are easy, but important habits that you can start doing, to help an reduce obesity rates. Another solution is to motivate students and/or yourself to participate in physical activities. 30 minutes a day can improve your health and lifestyle. There's many different ways you can accomplish this including but not limited to: swimming, running, jogging, school sports, or dancing. In conclusion, obesity comes with huge costs, both public and personal, but is preventable. Prevention is the key. My group an I, decided to make a difference by volunteering in a local daycare. We visited young kis an explained to them the importance of healthy eating along with different fun ways to excersise. At the end the kids drew a picture of a healthy meal. This project cost us no money, was effortless, fun, and quick. Educate yourself and others on the risks and issues that comes with obesity. Slowing down the increase in obesity will take a large scale, multifaceted efforts. This begins with us. We are the only ones that can change this. This concludes our presentation. Thank you, for attending our Making a Difference presentation. Are there any questions?
